HALLOWEEN PARTIES

 

Halloween on Mackinac Island is definitely not your typical Halloween experience. For starters, the Halloween parties are the weekend before the actual Halloween as many stores and restaurants are preparing to close up shop for the season at the end of October. Mackinac's Halloween weekend conicides with the Great Turtle Half Marathon so you will see some participants running in their costumes.  After the race, there is trick or treating for kids through the downtown shops. So, if parents running in the race bring their children with them to the island, be sure to pack a costume! Later in the evening, after the kids are tucked into bed, it's time for the adults to parade around the various downtown establishments. People get very creative with costumes and a fun time is had by all!   

What could be better than celebrating Halloween on a beautiful, haunted island with real ghosts? Come and scare yourself silly!
